Discover Social Assistance is a course that prepares participants for employment in aged care, disability care, childcare, and residential support care. Co-delivered with Back2Work, the program covers personal development and nationally endorsed training. The course includes the unit of competency ‘CHCDIV001 Working with diverse people’ and explores the characteristics of diversity encountered in the workplace, cultural perspectives, discrimination laws, and issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, people with disabilities, and LGBTIQ+ communities. By completing the program, participants will gain the confidence and skills needed to provide quality care and support to diverse populations.
